The Centre for Family Beginnings at Wellington earns its well-deserved reputation for providing high-quality medical care and personalized attention. Every one of the nearly 3,000 babies delivered here each year is special to us.
We recognize the importance of families in the growth, development and well-being of each of their members. That's why we use a family-centered approach to care, and work to provide the most supportive, nurturing environment possible.
At the Centre for Family Beginnings at Wellington Regional Medical Center, we offer:
- Beautifully decorated, private and comfortable birthing suites. Eacj suite is equipped with advanced medical technology that does not detract from the homelike environment.
- A postpartum unit with 19 private rooms, each designed for the comfort of mother and baby.
- A technologically advanced infant security system.
- Advanced critical care, for babies with special needs.
- Many of the area's finest nurses and ancillary staff, as well as and exceptional medical staff of obstetricians, perinatologists, neonatologists, anesthesiologists and pediatricians.
- A staff that is trained to provide safe, individualized care that is sensitive to the specific physical, psychological, emotional, social, cultural, economic and educational needs of each family.
- The expertise of international board-certified lactation consultants, who provide individualized breastfeeding education and assistance.
- A lactation center that can provide outpatient consultations, breast pump sales/rentals and other breastfeeding products.
- Breastfeeding support groups, including La Leche League of Palm Beach County and the Lactation Tea and Support Group.
- Obstetrical nurses provide personalized instruction for baby care and home safety issues, including the "Back to Sleep" program.
- A comprehensive range of prenatal classes, including: the ABCs of Breastfeeding, Baby Care, Sibling Class, Infant CPR and Childbirth Education/Lamaze. Classes are taught by certified and/or licensed instructors and healthcare professionals.
- A 25-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) designed to provide family-centered care and encourage parent bonding.

providers must be sensitive to the specific physical, psychological,
emotional, social, cultural, economic and educational needs of each
childbearing family.
