The Lactation Center at Wellington

Providing Counseling, Education, Support and Supplies to Breastfeeding Moms

#The Lactation Center at the Centre for Family Beginnings is dedicated to supporting you in your decision to breastfeed. Breast milk provides optimal nutrition for your baby, including protection against common illnesses, and is a loving, nurturing way to feed your baby.

The Lactation Consultants at Wellington Regional Medical Center are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs), who have been specially trained in breastfeeding and child development.

The Lactation Center offers personalized care and services including:

  • Breastfeeding Education
  • Private Consultations
  • Telephone Advice
  • Monthly Support Group Meetings

The Lactation Center at Wellington is located on the second floor of the hospital, in the Centre for Family Beginnings Obstetrics Unit. Lactation consultants are available seven days a week to assist you in choosing the breastfeeding equipment and supplies that are right for you. Hospital grade breast pumps are available for rent.
