The Hospital Experience — Keeping You Happy
Our story begins with you, the Family. The staff at The Centre for Family Beginnings at Wellington Regional Medical Center is devoted to providing quality healthcare and promoting family unity for the best beginning life can offer.
Our primary focus is on nurturing families and empowering them to make CHOICES. Because every family is different, you are encouraged to participate in joint decisions with healthcare providers regarding the birthing process: your physical surroundings, birthing assistance and partner participation.
If you haven’t already done so, now is a great time to schedule your tour of the maternity unit so you can meet our wonderful staff! Call 561-753-2626.
Comfort We hope that you and your family will appreciate the privacy and security of our delivery rooms. Our private labor/delivery/recovery rooms are warm and cheerful — the perfect setting in which to welcome your new baby. You’ll also have the comfort of knowing that our neonatal intensive care unit is only steps away from your room if your baby should require more advanced care.
A security sensor will be placed on your baby to ensure their safety. You’ll have comfort of mind knowing that the maternity unit is secured 24 hours a day.
In-room accommodations are available for fathers or partners, and siblings are welcome to visit after new brothers and sisters are born.
Expertise Family choices are of utmost importance as physicians, midwives and maternal infant nurses guide mothers through labor and childbirth.
After delivery, your maternal infant nurse will continue to care for you and your baby during the hospital stay. The nurse will also serve as a source of information and education in making appropriate plans for your baby’s wellbeing.
In the event of a Cesarean section, two surgical delivery rooms are immediately accessible and board-certified anesthesiologists and neonatologists are available 24 hours a day.
Support Personalized care is what best characterizes The Centre for Family Beginnings. You will find the staff very knowledgeable and nurturing and always available to answer your questions allowing for a smoother, more enjoyable delivery experience.
All new mothers “room in” with their babies to facilitate bonding. However, should you need to rest, “babysitting” services are available at night.
A certified lactation consultant is available upon request to provide individual assistance and instruction on breastfeeding.
Photos of the New Baby A photographer is available to take pictures of your new baby during your stay with us. With your permission, your baby’s photo can be posted on a secure Web site so other family members and friends can share in your joy.
