Matthew Tayon, DO

Medical School: West Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine

"I was born in Gainesville, FL, where my parents met while attending the University of Florida and I subsequently went back 18 years later to study and receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry.

From an early age, I knew that I wanted to enter the field of medicine and have volunteered and involved myself in organizations ranging from a medicine street team working to provide care to homeless patients to running the Wilderness Medicine Club at my medical school.

When first deciding where to go for my residency training I came across Wellington Regional Medical Center, a community based hospital close to family and home. Upon interviewing, I found that it was a place where the staff showed care and warmth to their patients and each other. I found that this would be the perfect place to help me grow and develop my skills as a medical professional while I continue to pursue the path I had set for myself back when I was a child and plan to continue walking for decades to come.

I have decided to pursue a path into Critical Care and Pulmonology upon completion of my training at Wellington Regional Medical Center."
