Wellington ER Westlake Ribbon Cutting

Wellington Regional Medical Center and representatives from Universal Health Services and Westlake city leadership held a ribbon-cutting this afternoon marking the completion of construction of the new ER at Westlake located in Westlake, Fla. The new ER, which will be the first emergency healthcare services available in the community of Westlake, will officially open for patients on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.

“We are excited to offer emergency healthcare services for the residents of Westlake and the surrounding communities,” said Pam Tahan, CEO, Wellington Regional Medical Center. “Emergencies can happen at any time, day or night, and it is important to have a facility available to quickly and professionally provide healthcare services for those individuals.”

"As the community of Westlake continues to quickly grow, it is wonderful that we will now have such a well-known and trusted ER provider in our community,” said Westlake Mayor Roger Manning. “The ER is a tremendous addition to Westlake and will help provide local medical services for our citizens.”

The more than 10,000-square-foot facility, located at the intersection of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road and Persimmon Boulevard, includes eight exam rooms, one triage room, three rapid medical exam bays, imaging capability and on-site lab services. The ER at Westlake will be staffed by experienced emergency medicine physicians and is the first Wellington Regional Medical Center ER located off the main hospital campus. The ER will be capable of treating both major and minor medical conditions from cuts and bruises to broken bones, heart attacks and stroke.

For patient convenience, the new emergency room will also offer ER Reserve and provide online ER Wait Times. ER Reserve allows patients who are in need of less serious emergency care to request a time for their visit up to 12 hours in advance. This will enable patients to wait in the comfort of their home, instead of the ER. The ER Wait Time is an average wait time for patients to see a registered nurse during the triage process and is updated every 30 minutes. After patients are triaged, they are seen by qualified medical professionals in priority order, according to their medical condition and reason for visit.

In addition to the ER at Westlake, Wellington Regional is affiliated with an Urgent Care Center located at 3319 S. State Road 7.
