Aurora Hemraj, DO

Medical School: Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine

"I was born in Guyana, South America. I moved to Queens, New York, when I was 14 years old. I have a mild New York accent, especially when I drive in traffic.

My passion for medicine was born out of a pervasive cultural fear of western medicine. My hope is to promote preventative medicine through encouragement, education and just being a compassionate doctor. I plan on specializing in GI medicine and volunteering in free community clinics.

I chose WRMC because I was interviewed by the CEO and CMO which I found impressive. It spoke volumes about the support and interest that senior leadership had for the program. They took the time to get to know me and my passion for medicine and patient education. I value my fellow residents the most. They are very supportive and family-like. The attendings are approachable, patient and take the time to teach and expose me to interesting high-yield cases."
